Advertising Campaigns

1. Heineken - Storeroom Ectasy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUcRNEOqfzU

In this advert we see a group of women entering a walk in wardrobe, and whilst they typically all start screaming we then see them all stop as they hear a group of men on the other side of the flat, we are then diverted to the men in a walk in fridge filled with heineken beer.

This advert presents a typical gender stereotype but has used to in order to direct it's audience very clearly. The stereotype being presented is the women being clothes lovers on one side and the beer loving men on the other. Cleverly this advert has shown both sides, instead of presenting the intended consumer it can work the other way and give women the thought that, maybe they don't want to live up to the stereotype being given.

2. Cadburys Spots Vs Stripes

The Cadburys ad campaign was huge over the summer, presenting this trailer out a few weeks before the product was actually released. With cadburys as the main sponsor for the 2012 Olympics in London, they have created a chocolate bar which lets the audience become an active consumer. The advert itself has been thought out thoroughly, thinking about an area where they could present two opposing sides - we are presented with a race, which goes on for quite a long period of time for an advert (something that cadburys have done before). We are clearly presented with the race of spots vs stripes, in the form of fish and whichever pattern they have. This advert/the product itself are to get people playing a game with the bar, as a long running build up to the olympics.
